Collective agreements for employers
Employers and self-employed physiotherapists are required to submit returns and premiums monthly to the Icelandic Association of University Teachers (BHM) for the Icelandic Association of Physiotherapists (FS).
Submission of papers
Returns must be sent electronically with a breakdown of all contributions for each member, marked with the correct union number FS (no. 616).
The deadline for submission is the 10th day of each month, and the due date is the 15th day of the month following the pay month. The due date is the last working day of the same month.
Submissions can be sent to:
· Electronically via www.skilagrein.is
· By email to skilagreinar@bhm.is
· Or by mail to:
University Association, Borgartúni 27 (at BIB), 105 Reykjavík
Membership fees and premiums
· Social Security contribution: 1.1% of total salary.
· Self-employed/contractors: pay fees themselves monthly.
Employer matching contribution
Employers also pay matching contributions to the following funds:
· BHM Holiday Fund – 0.25%
· BHM Vocational Training Fund – 0.22%
· Career Development Center for University Students – 0.70%
· BHM Health Fund – 1.0% (for members in the general market)
· Family and Support Fund – 0.75% (for members in government service)
· Science Fund FS – 1.5% of fixed daily wage (applies to municipalities, optional in the general market, not for the self-employed)
Note: Payments must be made either to the Family and Support Fund or to the Health Fund – not to both for the same member.
Payment information
BHM bank account for contributions:
0515-26-550000
Social Security Number: 630387-2569
A claim is created in online banking when the return has been received and posted. If payment is not received by the due date, interest will be charged from the due date to the date of payment.
This way you ensure that membership fees and contributions are paid correctly and that FS members enjoy the rights they are entitled to.
December and holiday bonuses
The collective agreements of BHM member unions contain provisions on holiday and December bonuses.
Such personal allowances are negotiated for each year. The allowance is a fixed amount of króna and does not count towards vacation.
BHM member companies
BHM member companies provide members with more detailed information about personal benefits, conditions and due dates according to the collective agreement to which they are subject.
